About Trebuoj
Trebuoj is a two-product research and development studio in South Africa. We design the hardware, write the firmware, and run the servers the readings land on — all of it, ourselves.
Why we build it this way
Most connected sensors are sold as hardware and billed as a service. The device is cheap, the monthly fee is not, and the day the company loses interest your sensor becomes a plastic box on a wall. We think a measuring instrument should outlive the company that sold it.
So we sell the hardware once and carry the running cost of the infrastructure ourselves. It keeps us honest about how much infrastructure a sensor actually needs — which turns out to be far less than the industry assumes.
What we actually do
Circuit design, firmware, enclosure, the dashboard and the servers behind it. Nothing is white-labelled and nothing is outsourced, which is why we can tell you exactly why a reading looks the way it does — and fix it when it doesn’t.
Where we are
South Africa. We ship countrywide by courier, and we answer enquiries ourselves — there is no support queue between you and the person who built the thing.
