Frequently asked
Is there really no monthly fee?
None. You buy the hardware once and we carry the cost of running the servers your readings land on. There is no tier, no trial, and no feature held back behind a plan.
What happens if my internet goes down?
SolarSense keeps working — it talks to your inverter and to Home Assistant entirely on your own network, with no cloud in the path. AquaSense keeps measuring and reports again once the link is back; it falls back to cellular where a home network isn’t available at all.
Do I need to be technical to install one?
For AquaSense, no — mount it, switch it on, and join it to your WiFi from the setup page it hosts itself. SolarSense means opening your inverter’s comms port and connecting two wires, which most solar installers will do in minutes.
Which inverters does SolarSense work with?
LuxPower hybrid inverters, over RS485 and Modbus RTU. If you’re running something else, tell us the model in an enquiry — the bridge is ours, so adding a protocol is a conversation rather than a dead end.
How deep a tank can AquaSense read?
From 20cm to 4.5m, accurate to a few millimetres, with the sensor’s blind zone handled in firmware rather than left to you.
Who can see my readings?
You. Readings go to your own dashboard, and we don’t sell, share or resell data of any kind. SolarSense doesn’t leave your network at all.
